I came home and found my beloved Husky/Wolf hybrid of 12 yrs dead and ripped up by two of my other dogs...why?

I once witnessed my Husky/Wolf hybrid almost kill her mother when she was old and had cancer--she survived for another year before finally showing me she couldn't go on any longer. I now have found her daughter, some ten years later, all strung out along my fence with heavily trodden snow and lots of blood where my 9yo Great Dane ***** and my rescued 6yo English Mastiff had killed her--she was a really good fighter, but her aged body wouldn't do what she needed it to do and she finally succumbed to the two attackers. I have one more older Great Dane who has Wobbler Syndrome and she has holes in her as well, but is slow to make it down stairs where the dog door is to the outside. There was no food, or anything to fight over--the only thing I did differently was to liberate some stuffed toys from the top of one of the book cases the night before--so there were lots of stuffed toys on the floor. The rescue Mastiff was bounced around the lower 48 for a while, then brought up to Wasilla and had been squirting out puppies every time she went into heat--I became aware of her plight and she was so shy at first, yet kept reaching out to me when I was there (hanging out with her owner; an acquaintance/used to be friend of mine--I was watching his dogs for a while). Shiloh was always the one that would come to me, then run off if I even moved to wipe my face--I felt sorry for her and decided to give her a good home. Since then, she went from hardly any coat at all, and black with puppy mill grossness to an incredibly healthy female with a huge heart for me as well as those whom I show her are okay. She has become the protector of the house..I am the only human here, and there are four dogs--the Husky/Wolf , Tanker, 12, a rescue Great Dane 8, a show Dane 9, and Shiloh, the Mastiff,6. I knew that there was a bit of tension between the two, but tTanker would always defer to Shiloh when it came to the bed and other stuff, while Shiloh would defer to Tankier when it came to a toy, or being first to get a treat--they seemed to have it all worked out splendidly and got along fine for a year and a half before this happened. I am really good at being in tune with my dogs and they never gave me any indication that this was brewing at all. It is that time of year when the sun begins to feel like California, yet it is still frigid at night that spawned this? There is always a big leap in suicide, homicide, murder rates up here around March, April, and May...it is when the body wakes up and the mind has been hibernating for the winter--now you have energy and find out that you are depressed and can actually do something about it. I have had three of the four (minus the mastiff) get into a gang fight while being kept at another person's house around the same time of year, a few years ago. I moved my dogs there and used the remaining two kennel runs for them--split them up two by two...one morning I let them all out into the big yard only to find all four fighting horribly. It didn't seem to matter which one fought with who, they would break up when I hit them with ammonia but go find another partner and start another fight. I finally picked away one at a time...that was in late March, or around the same time of year as now. I cannot bare to see my nine year old Great Dane as dainty as she seems, nor can I bare to see my rescued Mastiff who now is proudly sporting a healthy new coat and has a small roll of fat on her from Innova dog food; they are outside and I blocked the dog door. Single digit temps and only the two of them on snow or cement-their choice for the night...they can snuggle up together--it makes me feel better knowing that they have to put up with some misery since my beloved Tanktank is in a plastic bag all frozen in the back of my truck out there as well. It makes me sick! I nourished and loved all of my dogs and I know they have no tolerance for weakness within the pack, but they all knew where they belonged...could it be that the Mastiff waited for me to leave before confronting Tanker for whatever reason? Why did the two dogs have blood covering them--obviously ganged up on her--there's a lot of very disturbed ground, about ten feet long where Tanker finally was cornered and brought down then brutally killed-she went out fighting to the death and was only able to slash the two other dogs a few times...a couple deep puncture wounds around the head on the Mastiff and a shredded ear on the Dane--the rest is all Tanker's gut pile and one huge rip along her neck with jellied blood--her face was frozen into a snarl. Tank was defiant and baring her fangs to the end! If I were only home!!!! Can I still love the other two dogs after this? I almost shot them both already, but couldn't since I have loved them for so long--does two or three deaths avenge the one? With those stats, the only college that you'll get into is West Virginia for sure. Anyone can get into WVU. The others will be harder. I know that Oregon State has an "at least a 3.0" policy. They make kids applying with lower go through all these hoops. (another essay explaining your grades, ect). Your chances at UF and Penn State are very low to none, at USF they're not that great either, and at USF not that good either. That 2.9 is holding you back. If you can, raise it to at least a 3.0 or higher to stand a chance at any of the Florida schools. Take the ACT, anything can help.

I Am So Disgusted With Certain Family Members Right Now?

My mother has always been controlling and co-dependent on her children. Don't get me wrong, she was also very loving and nurturing but...controlling. She has always been both emotionally and financially co-dependent on her children, now aged 34 & 36. I finally had enough and moved out at the age of 29yrs and have lived independently since. My sibling lives with her but strongly desires to move out into his own place. He won't do this out of fear of what will happen to my mother. He refuses to admit this to her but has told me this is the reason he hesitates to leave. My mother has been on unemployment for maybe 1 1/2 - 2 yrs. She is trying to collect SSI and disability. As you probably know...this is a time consuming process but she wasn't exactly in a hurry. She now only has about 1.5 month left to collect unemployment. Recently, my sibling voiced his desire to have his own place. My mother agreed and when he asked what she planned to do....she told him she would move in with a complete stranger and rent a room. CRAZINESS! I told her I refuse to condone this and told her she will put her belongings in storage and move-in with me. I explained to her my brother MUST eventually move out into his own place and learn to live independently. She too will eventually move out into a one bedroom and learn to live independently. I have become extrememly angry over this issue. Not to mention, just yesterday I learned my brother may have an older child he never knew about until recently. Mind you....he collects social security and disability. Financially he cannot afford a child. He is in no position in life to father a child....period. I am angry because my mother is co-dependent on us. I am angry because her co-dependency as forced her children to sacrifice having their own lives to contribute to her life. I am angry because I have worked hard all of my adult life and worked hard through college not to rely on the system to support me. Ew...What's this on my foot?!?!?

Okay so, put your foot out so you can see both big toes. On the left of my right toe there's this big brown pimple thing on it. It is soooo disgusting I dunno what it is. And on my right of my left toe you can feel one forming but it's not brown...yet. Let me describe the one on my right toe. I hate my mother so much, you seriously have to read this and think if it is normal. No question surrounds that my mother and i have never seen eye to eye. I am a straight a student, achived 3a*s and 8a's at GCSE and 4 A's at A level. My mother's response to me doing well after my sociology a level and getting an a was not well done son but rather i got an a in sociology in the most spiteful and harsh tone ever. Before my a level exam actually it was my mother's day off and she had already said she would not be taking me to school as she wanted a lie in. That was fine, i got the bus to and fro school for every exam and so it didnt bother me, however the way she acted this day really pissed me off. My exam was actually at 2 and she couldnt be bothered to even get out of bed at even 1 o'clock to drive me to school but the reason she would not get out of bed is because i could vividly and clear as day hear her having sex with her boyfriend. I had an important a level exam and my mother refused to take me at 1 o'clcok in the afternoon because she was too busy having sex, surely that's not right!?!. I confronted her about this and her response to this was not i'm sorry but rather, and i quote as i can remember, "it's my house, not your's, i will do what i fuc**ing want". I was ten minutes late for my exam because i had to get the bus but i couldnt even be bothered with the hassle of telling her. 3 days later, i woke up for school and she had left for work, i went in to the bathroom and she had left a used condom in the toilet present for everyone to see, including my 14 year old brother, absolutely disgusting. Her response to this was again, "its my ******ing house, i will do what the fu*k i want". My brother needed the bathroom so i had to fish a used condom out of the toilet. Obviously i confronted her about this and she literally went off on the biggest rant i have ever witnessed, swearing left right and centre, when i was talking to her in a manner, raised as it was due to what she had did, never swearing at her. She has also came down the stair's on christmas day with her dressing gown wide open as she was drunk from the night before. She has done this several times and one time she answered the door to my friend, who was then 15 with here dressing gown, as usual wide open, with everything on show and when i tell her to put some clothes on she constantly for some uknown reason tells me to fu**k off and stop trying to be her dad. This is not the behaviour of a woman functioning normally surely. My brother has also witnessed her having sex with her bedroom door wide open at 9 o'clock in the evening and my brother said her boyfriend (her 2nd boyfriend out of 6 in a space of 6 years actually looked at him and just carried on. My brother was in tears and came into my room. My mother accused him of lying saying he was making it up even though she could be heard clearly even downstairs and he would not lie or make up a story about such a thing. The amount of times my mother has said that she wished i never lived in the house and that she didnt have to know me can not be counted. She talks to me like i am subhuman and near enough every day, every couple of hours tells me to fu**k off and launches into a torrent of abuse for god knows reasons. The very moment i am writing this for instance, just two hours earlier, beacuse i have no money as i am saving up for univeristy and am in the limbo between exam results and university and so can not realisticly find a job that will be happy to employ me and get rid of me in 2 months, i couldnt go out today as i have no money. She launched with abuse about how i have no friends and go fu**k off and live somewhere else. This is commonplace, she constantly swears it me and i cannot honestly remeber the last time she has talked to me without swearing at me, i dont swear at her, you have to believe me, i really dont. This is not normal, i didnt even say anything to her to induce anything! She constantly lowers my self esteem as well and always makes me feel self conscious about my weight and appeareance. On one occasion she said to me do you think your good looking and i replied i'm average i suppose to which, my mother laughed and said something under her breath. Want to make my really dark brown hair a slightly lighter brown.?

Hair dying- scared my hairs going to actually break!?

okay, since i was about 14 (i'm not 17) i've been dying my hair i'd say every 5 months or so. I've only ever used 3 permanent dyes within these years, and the rest semis. I straighten my hair about once every three days, and wash it once every 5 or so, because my hair is very dry. Hi, im 13 and i am really skinny. I have always been little though. I weighed 3 lbs when I was born. And I currently weigh 75pounds. Im about 4' 10'' I never skip meals and I eats snack about every 2 hours to keep me well nourished. I also hydrate myself a lot. I went to curl my hair and it MELTED to the curling iron why?!?

I have no extensions. Just my normal hair, I style it everyday and it's fine. I had just sprayed stuff into my hair to protects it against the heat then I wrapped my hair around the curling iron and it immediately began to MELT to the curling iron. My step-granddad and I have never got on. He used to physically hurt me ALOT and I rather not get into it but he tried to drown me in the swimming pool. My mum slammed the door in his face and we thought that was the end of it. But then we heard banging and crashing round the back of our house and we ran to have a look and my step-granddad was trying to get into our garden. So I shouted at him to get away and that we would call the police so he stopped and said he wanted what he wanted. So I went round the front and gave him something that looks like the thing he wanted and handed it to him. I told him he broke the gate and he told me to grow up and stuck his middle finger up at me and sped off in his car. I am so mad right now and so is my mum. It's like my nan is brainwashed by him. Tiny water bugs and jellies in Riis Park?

I went to Jacob Riis Park (the beach) on Long Island yesterday afternoon, and after half an hour in the water I noticed these gross, tiny, 1/8th inch long little black bugs. I shrieked, and ran out of the water, seriously. Also, in the water I saw multiple small jellyfish-like organisms that did not sting. What are both of these things, and are they in all beaches? It's a little heavy on the carbs. I would suggest switching out a hard boiled egg, turkey, or a cheese stick with some of the fruit and eating more green vegetables (lower in calories and carbs but still have lots of nutrients like fruit). If your thyroid is still low on the medication, you either need a higher dose or you need a different kind of medication. Doctors usually prescribe T4, but a lot of bodies cannot convert T4 to T3. My doctor prescribed me T3 AND T4 (I take Naturthroid) and I feel a lot better on that than I did on just T4 (which was Levothyroxine). Ask your doctor about either taking Cytomel (supplemental T3 along with the T4) or switching to Naturethroid or some other kind of T3, T4 medication. Also, ask for a free T3 blood test, that will show you far more than a T4, TSH blood test. Look at the sites in sources, they will explain more. :)

My female cat refuses to feed her newborn kittens and i would feel guilty if they were to die,what can i do?:(?

I have a female cat who gave birth 2 weeks ago...She had five kittens, three already died (died instantly) and i'm trying very hard to save the last two! They are very badly nourished and i think another one is about to die today..I took them to a vet and he told me there was not much to do but buy kitten formula from petco or any other pet store, or to make a homemade kitty formula for the kittens to take for the first day,and see how they react and then if they show positive signs to go ahead and buy the vitamized kitty formula from a pet store. He gave me the recipe to this home-made formula( 8oz homogenized milk,2 egg yolks,one teaspoon of salad oil and one drop liquid pediatric vitamins (optional). He told me to keep them in a very warm environment.To fix a basket with plenty of warm blankets etc..P.s They don't like it there.. And my female cat detests them and refuses to breast feed them,( I'm so sad i don't want the kittens to die)..But the vet does not give me much hope.He said it's like a 50/50 chance of survival. The kittens seem to stop crying when they sleep beside me or i cuddle them to sleep..So for now i'm basically not sleeping at all! i'm just watching over them since they are sleeping with me for now..I'm basically playing mother and they look so fragile,sweet,and innocent...Idk i just can't think of them perishing.It would give me a really bad input, as i'm trying really hard to save them... Imagination: Good or Bad?

I have a slight problem. Actually, I don't know if this is a problem. Ever since I was a little kid, I have always loved fantasy and later on the entirety of the fantasy genre. In 5th grade I tried writing a cute two page story. Now I am in 9th grade and can write a good 50 something pages. However, when I'm not writing, y imagination takes hold of me. Everything I do to relax (games, anime, books, fantasy) is fuel for my imagination. I've compiled so many morals and have seen such emotion in other people's works that it holds me in a heavenly state. I get so excited, often picturing my own characters in the stories or using the material to help strengthen my own work's spiritual value, accuracy, etc. I put on my favorite bands and use the emotions i the song to daydream. Oh, but I can't be so normal and inanimate with such a rush building. I have to pace, or some other mundane thing. If I had hours I would pace forever. I know people don't usually pace over feels, or at least I don't think they do. I spend(waste) so much time pacing though, that it takes away from my time for finding new things, new stories, etc. There is also the fact that I think something is wrong with me. Is this sort of imagination rush normal? Has anyone else ever done something similar? Also, I want to relax and see new stuff, but I'm afraid if I do I will get myself riled to the point that my pacing will wear me out (to late, it actually has several times) or cause some sort of condition that will affect my schoolwork. It is, to put t simply, like an addiction. Um, what should I do about this? I want to do these things, but not sure if it is the best thing for my health, especially since my heart beats extra-fast for extended periods of time that is not normal compared to other people. Am I shortening my life or something? Basically, is this imagination a good or bad thing, and if bad what do I do about it? Yeah, this was really difficult to explain.

I'm originally from Bangladesh, a small country in South Asia. Actually, my parents are from there. I was born in Italy. But my roots are from there. I went there a month ago to see my sick granddad. And I am sickened by how the men their treat their women. They treat them like cattle and property. It is a highly patriarchal society. The women cook, clean and look after the children and don't work. 99% of women there are traditional housewives who bow down to their husbands and kiss their feet. My mom however, is a doctor. She is one of the very few women who work. But she still cooks, cleans, looks after my little brother and works. My dad is unemployed at the moment. He doesn't do anything. He just eats, sleeps and goes to the toilet. He occasionally helps my mom. And my parents live in Australia, which is a western society. Sometimes, I wish I could teach my dad a MAJOR lesson. But how? I honestly don't understand how my mom could bear all this. My dad is not that bossy unlike the other Bangladeshi men. He does listen to my mom and he DOES what my mom tells him to do. But he just has a know it all attitude that annoys me. Well, anyway this isn't about my family. It's about my auntie and other women who go through the pain. My auntie is among the 1% who go to work in Bangladesh. She told me her everyday scenario from first thing in the morning is waking up, making breakfast for husband and then apparently getting scolded and getting divorce threats from her husband for making a crap breakfast, then going to work in a crammed bus, and then taking bs from sexist boss. She told me her boss teases and makes fun of her for working because she is a female. Then, after a long & tiring day at work she goes home again to be yelled at by her husband. Her husband accuses her of coming home so late! WTF!!! This is SO messed up! I mean her husband eats FREE, doesn't help around the house at ALL, doesn't work and yet he yells at her for working late so that HE gets his daily bread! And my auntie is actually a housewife. She has to work because her husband either can't find a job or is TOO lazy to work! And the rest of the 99% of women don't even get the chance to work because if they work they APPARENTLY will become DISOBEDIENT to their husbands and fathers and become too smart. They stay home and lick their husbands feet and tolerate their BS. The average Bangladeshi woman is dependent on their male relatives their whole entire life, from birth till death. From birth till maturity she is dependent upon her father. After that she is married off & is therefore is dependent upon her husband. And when her husband is old and retires she is dependent upon her son (if she has one). In marriages, the girl has to go live in her husband's parents house where she serves her husband & in laws, especially her mother and father in law. After that she is pressured by husband & in-laws to give birth to a son. I have seen guys go as far as divorcing their wives and marrying new ones because their ex wives have failed to give birth to a son. The women have no say in public matters and society related issues. They are are usually told to shut up because they "don't know anything". I am horribly disgusted with this disgusting attitude towards women and relieved at the same time because I am lucky enough to not be in their shoes. I want to know why these women are so subjugated and oppressed. I really don't understand. Thank u to people who have decided to read my long and rather boring rant! It really feels good to let out all of that frustration!

Will this help me lose back the weight I gained?

Until May 21st (for 3 weeks total), I am going to eat 1,600 calories a day. I used to binge at night, (which made me gain 17 pounds from last september until now), and not eat during the day slowed down my metabolic rate a LOT. Now I weigh 114 pounds at 5'3, and I want to go back to the way I was, (97 lbs), so to get there I'm going to eat 1,600 calories a day to trick my body into thinking it's being nourished, and then I'm going to gradually decrease my intake to 900 a day so that I will lose weight. Will this work?

Guitar Distortion Pedals?

Hey guys, I am currently looking for some preferably high-end guitar distortion (or whatever is needed) type of pedals to get a few different sounds of music. I have a Dean Warbird and a Schecter Hellraiser Special C1-FR (incase you need to know) going through a marshall 100-watt amp (hoping to eventually upgrade to a half-stack, but ill post another question for that when the time comes). I have a distortion pedal, but it is one of those do-everything pedals that is electronic and doesnt specialize in anything in particular, and hoping to upgrade. I have saved up a little money, and want to get some new ones. I am in a band that plays rock (to appease to the bar setting that most of our gigs are at), metal and postcore/deathcore stuff occasionally (very ranged genre type, i know). I was hoping to get pedals that really make my sound great for all of those. If possible, I am hoping to get a pedal that would have great tone and crispness for classic rock, but with enough distortion to play modern rock. The second pedal I want is one that has great gain/distortion and would have the dark and very distorted (but not sooooo much that it is unbearable and undistinguishable) sound that bands like Attila/Within the Ruins would use. I would also like one (for me, not really for the band) that would have the right sound and tone for, say, Avenged Sevenfold type of songs, with lots of solos and preferably made to sound geat with drop D.......... I know this is asking a lot, but if you guys could compile maybe a list or at least answer to one of those, that would be really,really helpful....... Thanks.

Do I have anxiety?/ other problems?

I'm 18 In the morning I wake up feeling depressed I tend to always think back on the past previous days thinking about the bad stuff that happened to me never the good I am always think negatively about myself and what happens to me never the good (usually) during school I feel socially awkward sometimes I get tongue tied and my mouth gets very dry making it harder for me to speak around most girls which was never a problem for me until this year I used to be very outgoing. Occasionally ill have a week period or so were I am always swallowing and I cant stop until I stop thinking about it its not even swallowing spit its just to swallow and clear my throat? I think? Around friends I usually fake laugh because I find it hard to Truly laugh these days but guy friends are different because I can talk to them no problem then after school I smoke (weed) and if I'm with a group who is I know very well and smoke with all the time I am fine and I am outgoing but if its with people who are more popular then me I tend to get so nervous and I cant even Enjoy the high because I am so nervous which results in me hardly speaking, barely even being able to compile a thought, and feeling socially awkward, and when this happens I cant play sports which I'm usually good at or do much of anything not to mention my mouth gets really dry and that shuts me up even more. I also think very poorly of myself which I shouldn't since I know I am not as bad as I make myself feel but I some how convince myself that "I'm all that and more". When is it safe to smoke after 4 teeth were extracted?
